Associate, Viola Fintech
Jacob joined Viola FinTech in February 2025 as an Associate. Before joining Viola, Jacob worked across international trade, law, energy, FinTech, and industrial decarbonization. Jacob graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied economics and international politics.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Jacob was the Head of Operations & Finance at a low-carbon supplementary cementitious materials startup in Israel, where he worked on all aspects of seed-stage company building.
- Earlier, based in London, Jacob worked on a special team within European payments fintech Teya (fka SaltPay) focused on market intelligence, strategy, and public policy/regulation.
- Jacob’s first job out of college was with Steptoe & Johnson, a global law firm. He worked in the firm’s top-tier international trade practice in Washington.
THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT JACOB
- Jacob enjoys reading, chess, languages, and baking. He has been playing chess since he was a child and teaching for more than ten years.
- He prefers hardcover books and tries to buy used copies when possible.
- At some point, realizing he was consuming an unreasonably large basket of financial services, it occurred to him that he was interested in FinTech.
